This rermarkble station has been totally rebuilt after its complete dismantling during the Beeching era in the 1960’s that saw 100’s small rural railway station closures .
A comaptible station was moved brick by brick from Wales to begin a superb restoration project that has become the new GWR Winchombe station.
It is a great place to visit for steam and diesel train enthusiasts. For further details of GWR, click on the logo to the right.
And your hostess, Sally, has experienced the ‘fire and drive’ footplate course at Winchcombe GWR – I’m sure she would love to tell you train buffs about it!
Why not make a full weekend of it and stay at Byways House B&B? – we are just a short walk 5 minute to Winchcombe GWSR!
